Your Welcome Kiddo...

This morning I woke up to a bizarre text from my brother “Hey Linds, keep us up to date on the tsunami warnings!” I was completely confused until I turned on the news. All I can say is that my thoughts are with everyone affected by the devastating earthquake and tsunami. Thank goodness Washington wasn’t severely impacted by this natural disaster. I was captivated by the news, video and images the entire morning and realized how grateful I was to know everyone in my family was safe.

As I watched the news I made a simple and filling breakfast, Yoplait greek x2 protein yogurt (honey flavored) and a sandwich thin topped with ½ teaspoon of sunflower seed butter, chocolate chips and a ½ of a banana. It was a good change from my standard oatmeal.

After I finally pulled myself away from the coverage I headed into Starbucks to get my Friday Americano. As I thanked the barista something funny happened, he said “Your welcome, Kiddo have a great weekend.” I felt compelled to tell this young man that I was older than him but he did boost my confidence, so I took it as a compliment and walked away smiling.

Finally lunch arrived and my dad brought in some leftover homemade chicken noodle soup my mom made (Yes, I work with my dad). I love surprises like this, mainly because my mom is a fantastic cook. I was feeling indecisive this morning so I packed lots of veggies so I could graze on a variety…carrot sticks, edamame and a crunchy green bean salad (thank you QFC) all made the cut.

Everything was DELISH, thanks mom! Only 4 hours until happy hour with Eleana.....TGIF.
